Luigi

Luigi

B Standard = Fireball

For this move Luigi simply throws a green fireball from his hand in the Fireballdirection you are facing. Luigi's Fireball is far superior to that of Mario. It travels in a straight line and is relatively unaffected by gravity. If it makes contact with an enemy it deals up to 6% damage. This move can be useful to catch a recovering enemy off guard. However, it will allow them to use a recovery move again. There isn't much more to say here other than it is easily dodged but quite useful as a match starter if your opponent starts to rush you.

B Side = Green Missile

Green MissileLuigi charges up some explosive energy and flies off in the direction you are facing, causing up to 25% damage. While this move is incredibly useful in matches, do not solely rely upon it. This is because it can sometimes misfire and Luigi will fly off in a random direction, be dubious of using this near the edge for this reason. Also be aware that while you will fly in the direction you are facing, Luigi does fly at quite a height, therefore this attack is fairly useless at long range against short enemies. If you can time it so that your opponent is right next to you when firing, then you will cause the most damage.

B Up = Super Jump Punch

Luigi's B up move, the Super Jump Punch, is very, very similar to Mario's. He Super Jump Punchjumps in the air as if he is punching a '?' block and knocks some coins out of the opponent. This also causes up to 25% damage. This attack is very effective as a recovery move (as with most B ups) because of the distance Luigi flies upwards. It does leave you incredibly unprotected after using it, so be careful of that. Try and use this attack if your opponent is above you, that way you have the highest chance if hitting them and inflicting the maximum amount of damage.

B Down = Luigi Cyclone

The Luigi Cyclone is quite a useful move, he spins round quickly with his arms held out and damages enemies for up to 15% damage. This can be good as a falling move, if you are falling towards an opponent then using this move inLuigi Cyclone the air will catch them off guard and inflict a bit of damage. It can also be used as a move to counter an opponent who is very quick, and keeps rushing you.

Final Smash = Negative Zone

Luigi creates a large negative bubble around himself that more of less encompasses the entire stage. Any opponents caught within the bubble will suffer various status effects, including flowers on their heads, sleep, and loss of control. They will also constantly suffer damage while within the bubble. As soon as Luigi finished his dance you should run towards the opponents that have been caught and perform a Super Jump Punch; if you can achieve this then it is a pretty much a guaranteed K.O for you. The Bubble will shrink after a short period of time. Negative Zone

Other information:

As in the games, Luigi is a very slippery character; meaning that he will continue moving for a short distance after you stop running. He can also jump quite high so you should use that to your advantage.

Strategies for:

Luigi has many moves in his arsenal that will keep you opponents guessing which ones you will use. The Green Missile is very useful as an attack but it can misfire fairly often, so do be careful if you're using it near the egde. You can use a lot of his smash attacks to cause a lot of damage and finish them off with a Super Jump Punch, the Luigi Cyclone also helps to build damage. Rushing your opponents can be quite good too, if you run towards them and press A; Luigi will bombard them with a series of punches which can cause up to 10% damage. Doing this in quick sucession can stop them being able to attack you.
When you use the Final Smash, then try and grab your opponent to throw them into the large bubble after the dance.

Strategies against:

If you are fighting against Luigi then watch out for his fireballs, they can cause damage quickly if you are not careful. When he gets close to you then try and dodge his attacks and get behind him. His attacks are very quick and so there isn't much of a chance to hit him with melee moves, this means you should bombard him with projectiles as it is difficult to get in close. Be careful of his Super Jump Punch as that can be devastating.
When he uses his Final Smash, then try and stay out of the large bubble, it may be difficult on small stages, but shouldn't be too difficult on the majority of stages.
